Why the data does not move

A pixel belongs to the business portfolio that owns it. When the portfolio is restricted, access to the pixel usually goes with it.

A pixel also cannot be moved to another business manager. Sharing it grants access, not ownership, so the pixel still dies with the portfolio that owns it.

There is no supported way to copy event history from one pixel to another either. The ID carries the data, so a replacement pixel starts empty.

The deletion window

Disabled accounts are widely reported to be removed after around 180 days, taking conversion history with them.

So act while you still have admin access, not once the appeal has run its course.

If you still have access, be realistic

There is less to salvage than most guides suggest. Sharing the pixel elsewhere will not save it, because access is not ownership.

• Record pixel IDs, event volumes and audience sizes for reference.
• Export what genuinely exports, such as customer lists you uploaded yourself.
• Do not build replacement pixels inside the restricted portfolio.
• Create the next pixel in a business manager that is warmed and separate from the ads.

How to avoid losing it a second time

Keep pixels in a business manager that does not run advertising. It carries no ad activity of its own, which keeps ownership separate from where the risk sits.

The catch is that a brand new business manager cannot do this job. It has to be warmed first before it can share a pixel out, so this is not something you can set up on the day you need it.
