Are Facebook Agency Ad Accounts Safe?

Short answer

Are Facebook agency ad accounts safe? Safer than a self-registered account, because they carry trust history and get replaced when they go down, but they are not ban-proof and your advertising still decides most of it.

Two columns comparing what renting an agency ad account does not change, such as policy-breaking creative and Meta's enforcement, against what it does change, such as fewer automatic flags, replacements and separation across Business Managers
The account changes your odds. The advertising still decides.

Safer than self-registered, not ban-proof

An agency ad account carries trust history that a freshly registered one does not, so it tends to attract fewer automatic flags. It does not put you outside Meta's enforcement.

Serious policy breaches get restricted whatever the account history. If the creative or the landing page is the problem, the account it runs in will not save it.

The safety question most people skip

Ask what happens to your data, not just to your account. A pixel cannot be moved between Business Managers, and sharing it out grants access rather than ownership.

So if the Business Manager holding your pixel is restricted, its history goes with it. That is the reason we keep pixels in a host Business Manager that never runs ads.

Your provider is part of the risk

You depend on whoever holds the account. If they disappear, your access goes with them, so how long a provider has actually operated matters more than their website does.

Treat "unlimited spending" as marketing. Be careful about handing anyone admin access to a Business Manager of your own.

It is also why the host Business Manager on Scale stays yours if you stop using us. Your pixel history does not leave with the provider.

What actually keeps accounts alive

In our experience the structure matters as much as the account. Keep roughly one offer per ad account, and test aggressive angles in a different account from the one carrying a winner.

If a campaign is performing, leave it alone and move the budget only. Launching new tests beside it is how people lose the account that was working.

How our setup is arranged

Scale runs four Business Managers and twelve ad accounts, so the setup is spread out. Replacements are unlimited at no cost and recovery is measured in hours.

Ask us the awkward version of this question

Book a call and ask what happens when an account goes down, who holds the pixel, and how long we have been doing this.
